Well, it's finally official! Last Thursday, I accepted the position of Costing Manager for European-developed footwear, a position that will be located at our European Headquarters (EHQ), in Hilversum, The Netherlands. I've been round and round on this position. I had originally interviewed on December 9th, then received a verbal offer on December 18th. I was super excited at that point... until I received the initial offer, which made the deal a no-go. I had called Europe on Tuesday to decline the offer, when the hiring manager asked me to wait until they could extend one final offer. Frustrated that this process had now been going on for about 5 weeks, I told him that I'd like to see the offer this week. True to his word, the hiring manager sent over the offer the very next day. This one was much better than the first, and, after much conversation and wavering back and forth on my part, I have decided to accept the offer. My move date isn't set in stone yet, but it's looking like my first day on the job will be April 1st. Is there April Fool's Day in Holland???
